Our Mission
Launched in 2025 and based in Kenya, WildLandscapes East Africa (WLEA) delivers practical, high-impact conservation across some of East Africa’s most complex and ecologically significant landscapes.
We work in close partnership with communities, conservancies, and conservation leaders — strengthening existing efforts and building momentum where it is most needed. Our team brings deep regional experience and a flexible, hands-on approach, ensuring every project reflects local realities and long-term priorities.
Guided by a board committed to these landscapes, we focus on conservation models that endure: restoring lost species, reconnecting fragmented habitat, strengthening governance, and enabling ecosystems to function at scale.
Secure and restore critical landscapes at scale
We focus on landscapes that matter, protecting key wildlife corridors across northern Kenya and north-eastern Uganda, restoring lost species, and strengthening conservancies so ecosystems function as connected systems rather than isolated fragments.
Our approach builds on decades of hands-on experience in community conservation, applying lessons learned to establish well-governed, resilient conservancies that endure.
Strengthen governance, credibility, and long-term stewardship
We bring international best practice in strategy, governance, and financial discipline to the landscapes where we work.
Trusted by governments, communities, and donors, we support institutions that are transparent, accountable, and capable of managing land of significant natural value.
Our role is to reinforce local leadership while ensuring systems are robust enough to attract long-term investment.
Deliver measurable conservation outcomes through trusted partnerships
We are a multidisciplinary, highly experienced team with a proven record of conservation delivery — from species recovery to the establishment of community conservancies.
We work as a long-term partner, not a short-term implementer. By combining credibility, field experience, and intercontinental networks, we help channel investment into landscapes where it can generate lasting ecological and social returns.
